For the technically minded, sound-curious and duly diligent, here is a list of our gear, curated over our 25+ years in live entertainment
OUR PA (Speakers)
We are proud to use an EV Evolve 50 pair. It has become the international industry standard for wedding DJs. The system has plenty of power and clarity for events of up to 250 guests while maintaining a tiny footprint and quick set-up/pack-down time.
We also use a battery-powered Mackie Thump-Go for smaller aspects of your function such as ceremony music and music for outdoor cocktail sessions.
Mixer
Our Soundcraft UI 16 mixer allows us to control the volume level and eq of the sound from any point in the room using it’s inbuilt wifi and ipads. It also means we have plenty of capability to incorporate extra audio inputs for any guest performers.
Decks
Shock horror – we don’t use physical decks! We DJ direct from our mac laptop on an interface called DJ Pro AI. It gives us all the capability we need without the physical space taken by decks or that “extra thing to go wrong”. We think it is the way of the future for professional function DJs, except those who specialise in scratching. And vinyl DJs of course! They’re a whole ‘nother thing ..
DJ Pro AI works seamlessly with Apple Music for any obscure requests where internet is available.
Microphones
We have two highly reliable pro-grade Sennheiser wireless mics for our MCing and also your speeches etc. We also use a Shure SM58 for DJing when there are no speeches or MC duties.
Lights
Our 4x LED lighting tree is a no-name make, but it has served us well for years. We control the lights with an analog DMX controller.
The booth
Here’s our booth! As with all our equipment we focus on small footprint, functionality, professional appearance and ease/speed of set-up/knock down to keep our clients and their venues happy.
